In these two artworks, the act of voyeurism is both a metaphor and a method, an intimate invasion, a silent gaze that blurs the boundary between observer and participant. What lies beyond is not meant to be seen.. yet, it is looked at. And in that looking, power is exchanged.
The female central figures in these scenes are not passive subjects of desire but the orchestrators of it. They perform, dominate and subvert the very notion of being watched. Their control is not hidden, it is central.
