CELEBRATING THE INDULGENT, DELECTABLE, DELICIOUS ACT OF FEASTING!

As the festive season approaches, we invite artists to FEAST, a group exhibition and prize dedicated to the universal pleasures of eating and drinking.

This exhibition celebrates the myriad ways food and drink enrich our lives. The joy of sharing a long-awaited meal with loved ones, the clink of wine glasses with a dear friend at a bar, Mum’s home cooking or comforting ritual of brewing a morning coffee.

FEAST is an opportunity to delve into the sensory experiences and emotional connections that are enhanced by what we consume and how we consume it.

Bring your art to the table!

  • ANNETTE CHANG ART PRIZE

We're delighted to announce that the prize for FEAST has been generously donated by Annette Chang.

Annette is a pivotal figure in our local art scene, having previously owned Alternating Current Art Space – the gallery that preceded Artemisia. For seven years, she cultivated a vibrant and supportive community for artists. When her battle with breast cancer unfortunately led to Alternating Current's early closure, Annette encouraged us to carry on her legacy and dream of running a gallery.

Now thankfully in remission, this prize stands as a testament to Annette's enduring love of art and unwavering support for local artists.

The Annette Chang Prize will be judged by Annette herself throughout the week before the offical exhibition dates. (Show will be hung 1 week prior to official dates). Judging criteria includes: Use of medium (technical or innovative application), connection to theme, emotive or narrative qualities, overall impression and aesthetic consideration.

The Artemisia prize will be judged by the gallery team. The artist who wins this prize will be deemed to have an engaging practice that we would love to support through a free exhibition.

The U&Me Picture Framing prize has been generously donated by Jimmy Song to assist artists in putting the finishing touches on their work of art through his framing expertise! U&Me Framing is located directly across from the gallery at 243 High St, Prahran.

All results will be announced on the opening night at 7pm.
