“In times of political instability and social regression, our bodies become a battleground and canvas for radical acts. ‘Hanky Code’ the group show invites artists, makers and creators to explore how queer communities have long used colour as a coded language of resistance, identity, and desire. From the discreet signals of the hanky code, to the familiar symbol of the rainbow flag, colour has functioned as camouflage, storytelling and a call to arms, all uses as diverse a spectrum as the colours used themselves.” - FOOT @theartistknownasfoot
