Falling Away Like Wet Cake by Ruby Knight

Falling away like wet cake is a collection of old and new works, but reframing them within a new light throughout their titles. It looks at what memories I associate with the works and different time periods of my life. It’s self described snap shots that link the works first title with the memory that now surrounds them, treating them as a reflection, or journal entry. 

The show attempts to make a direct line between what was, and the feelings that now surround the pieces. Glimpses of creativity or hard work through an alcoholics foggy landscape, that can sometimes only be held in hindsight.

The exhibition refers to feeling of loss of control, mind, memory, and self, and attempts to gain it back by pulling some red string together.
