“Midsumma is an Australian queer arts and cultural organisation working year-round to support LGBTQIA+ artists, culture-makers, communities and audiences. Since 1988, Midsumma has evolved from a three-week summer festival into one of Australia’s most significant queer arts organisations, creating opportunities for artists, developing new work, supporting creative careers and elevating diverse queer voices.
At the heart of Midsumma’s work is Midsumma Festival, Melbourne’s major annual celebration of queer arts and culture, bringing together more than 200 events across visual arts, theatre, live music, cabaret, film, spoken word, performance, parties, sport and community events. The 2027 festival runs from 17 January to 7 February, presenting work by local, interstate and international artists across venues throughout Melbourne and wider Victoria.”
We are back for Midsumma Festival 2027!
Calling all folx fond of folklore, servants of the supernatural & those who revel in reimagining ancient tales. Take part in our 3rd annual Midsumma group show!
This group exhibition aims to provide a snapshot of how queer identities and narratives have long been intertwined with the fantastical. It is a space where history can be reimagined, and identity can be rendered magical and unconstrained.
