From intricate weaving and elaborate embroidery to works of fashion and design the artists featured in this exhibition demonstrate the boundless possibilities of working with textiles.

Textile art is currently thriving within our local art scene and Fruits of the Loom aims to bolster the medium as an important (though long overlooked) artform. Hours and hours of meticulous work goes into creating the pieces on display however the Western art canon has long downplayed the practice as a trivial pursuit of women. We hope you will see why these works deserve to be held on the same pedestal as the finest paintings and sculptures.
