Borrowed Light is a series of works that explores the tension between the familiar and the uncanny. Banal everyday objects are reframed through muted background palettes to create a deceptive calm. Drawing on the strange poetry of decorative paint names, the exhibition pairs domestic tones with these grouped objects, inviting moments of recognition, humour and doubt. Connecting art and design, layers are built, interrupted and transformed, leaving traces of what came before.
