The Farmers Wife was a series of work informing a relationship around head neck and shoulder explorations. Building a swifter confidence into finding an expressive face in a block of wood, never knowing quite what will be revealed. Drawing the character out, The Farmers Wife came along.
Worn by the wear and tear of the Australian elements, the emotions of loss, devastation and very little comfort was known. The life of the Farmer's Wife is a small hero's journey, a battler and a survivor. She stood by her husband and their pledge to the land. This was hers to accept.
