Maya Tamang is a disability activist and an artist with lived experience. Her paintings aim to empower others through their depiction of authenticity and honesty.

Maya’s evocative artworks offer a raw and honest depiction of her battle with mental health while also delving into broader themes of female portraiture, fashion and the way in which they intersect with mental well-being.

Through her art Maya intends to create a safe and inclusive space where these sensitive subjects can be addressed openly and honestly, fostering a sense of understanding and empathy within the community.
